The purpose of this prototype was to create a build to think video that would present and create a discussion around the topic. My video focuses on data privacy and creating a way for users to take more control of how and when their data is being used.

Data tracker prototype (rough draft)
This was my first rough draft using actual footage for my future problem design scenario video. (prototype) This was a great exercise for me to think through all the shots and any additional things I would need that I had not thought of before actually going through this.
I had to use my husband as a stand in actor for this version and that was a fun challenge in itself. Overall, I think the story is really coming together. We reviewed our videos in class and the main feedback I got overall was that it was a little “flat”. I plan to add some more emotion and drama into the actor/script when shooting the final video.
We were also tasked with filling out a CAST model to help work through some of the process and meaning behind it all. I am excited to start filming the real deal and am thankful I have this great template to work with as a guide.

Video prototype progress
For our final project for this semester, we were to think of a far-future (around 2050) potential challenge and design a potential solution. The final will be a video prototype to present and explain the idea. I decided to focus on artificial intelligence and its dominance in our lives.
Over the last few weeks we have created audience models, territory maps, elevator pitches, story boards, build to test/learns and animatic videos to prepare for our final design solution.

Design Problem Scenario
Illustrating a design scenario is an engaging way to tell a story. It adds visuals and can add context to the viewer. The task here was to think of a design problem you have had in your career and tell the story with the solution visually. I really had a lot of fun with this one. My story was in regards to my time as an art director when I changed the way we collected and created photography for a publication.

Build to think prototype
This video project was to create a build to think prototype. The prototype was to focus on a product or service that has not yet been created or invented. The video gives the viewer an idea of what this “could be” so a discussion could start on the idea and get people to think of how it could one day be a reality. I chose to design a service that would allow you to have decor shipped to your door. The decor could be borrowed (rented) or purchased. This idea allows for people to add some variety to their decor while being budget conscious.
Springboard video
My first video project for design scenarios was to create a spingboard video. The video was to be on a problem that you wanted to create a conversation around. I chose to focus on Autism awareness. The purpose of the video is to spark creative discussions and ideas around the topic. This would be a good way to start a brainstorming session and get key players interested and involved.
